One of our Year 6 School Council representatives brought an idea to us early in the term and the whole council agreed to organise it. This involved signing our school up as a parkrun primary to promote the benefits of regular physical exercise.
School Council reps from years 4, 5 and 6 practised and delivered an assembly for both the key stage 2 children and those in Foundation Phase classes. They explained what junior parkrun is and how the children could get involved. They described all the benefits of taking part in physical exercise. Then on Sunday 30th November we invited our children to take part in Bridgend junior parkrun. Lots of our children already attend but there were some new faces there too which was lovely to see. School Council hope that Maes yr Haul children will continue to enjoy junior parkrun.
