KS2 JUNIOR CLASSES

When they reach the junior classes, pupils’ homework will increase according to the needs of the child, the demands of the national curriculum and particularly in year 6 will be geared towards preparation for entering secondary education. Pupils will be expected to complete tasks independently, literacy and numeracy work will be sent home in order to consolidate and reinforce learning done in school through practise or refinement at home. It will also be used to ensure that prior learning has been understood and retained.

PUPILS WILL BE EXPECTED TO LEARN TIMES TABLES UP TO 10


...It may seem too obvious to say, but children do need a table or desk away from the distractions of television, hi-fi, DVD computer games and younger brothers and sisters, where they can organise themselves and develop the study skills that will stand them in good stead throughout their lives.
