Junior Youth Speaks 2011

Year 6 had an inhouse speaking competition this year. Anna Davies won the competition and Jac Mort came runner up. Anna then went on to represent Maes yr Haul in the Junior Youth Speaks Competition run by the Rotary Club. Pupils who entered were judged by the following criteria: speaking clearly using eye contact not reading speeches good use of humour where appropriate offering an interesting point of view Anna's speech was entitled 'Aspire to Inspire'. She gave an outstanding performance and was against pupils with extremely high standards as commented by the judges. Anna came first. Congratulations Anna!

Two teacher training days are planned for Friday 8th April and Friday 15th July.
School will be closed on Friday 22nd July in lieu of the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday.
Last day of Spring Term: Friday 15th April.
First day of Summer Term: Tuesday 3rd May.
Last day of Summer Term: Thursday 21st July.
First day of Autumn Term: Thursday 1st September.
Autumn Half Term: 24th-28th October

Eisteddfod 2011

St David's Day was celebrated with an Eisteddfod for Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Lloyfarchiadau - congratulations to Ewenni (coch) and Llynfi (glas) houses who were Eisteddfod champions and to Malika Boukeras our chaired bard.

Operation Christmas Child

On Friday 26th November the volunteers from Operation Christmas child were delighted to collect 165 shoeboxes for their 2011 appeal. Pupils from class Garland helped to carry and load the van. Mrs. Garland would like to say a huge thank you to all of the families who supported the appeal this year. Nadolig Llawen pawb.

Abernant 2010

Pupils in year 6 had a thoroughly exciting time in Manor Adventure, Abernant this year. Watch the exciting activities they were involved in, like rafting, climbing, archery and fencing.

To work effectively and succeed in raising standards we would like to gather information from you and ask that you complete a questionnaire. By you completing the survey online we not only save paper but are able to collate the responses electronically. Should you not wish to complete the survey online, paper copies of the questionnaire are available from the school office.
