Fairtrade Footprints

During Fairtrade fortnight we had assemblies in Key Stage 2 and Foundation Phase to explain all about Fairtrade and Fairtrade products. We found out about why the Fairtarade foundation was set up, how and who it helps and what products we could buy to support Fairtrade. Every child in or school fom nursery to Year 6 made a Fairtrade promise and wrote their promise on a footprint that they decorated in the Fairtrade colours. The promises ranged from I will tell my family and friends about Fairtrade to I will try to buy a Fairtrade chocolate bar or banana or football. All the footprints have been collected in and will be sent to the Fairtrade foundation to support their steps to Fairtrade campaign.

Feeling Wheely Poorly?

The bike doctor came to school as part of our third event to encourage children to cycle to school. The children were given the opportunity to bring in any of their bikes that needed a health check or repairs to ensure that they were safe for them to use to travel to school. The bike doctor worked incredibly hard to repair punctures, fix broken chains, replace broken lights and check brake pads and he also explained to the children how they could look after and repair their bikes to keep them in tip top condition and at the ready to ride to school. We would like to thank the bike doctor for helping to keep our bikes healthy as that helps us to take the healthy and environmentally friendly option of cycling to school.
