What a brilliant term this has shaped up to be. The children in the Foundation Phase had a wonderful time performing their songs and poems in the Eisteddfod this month. The children really enjoyed their day and produced some excellent performances. We were are all so proud of them!!! The children have also been learning lots about 'Wonderful Wales' and have had great fun painting daffodils, making flags and learning about St David.
World Book Day was a real success and we must say a big 'thank you' to Mike Doyle who came into school and shared one of his favourite stories with the children. We also had a super variety of books brought into school by the children. It was a real pleasure to hear everyone share their thoughts and feelings about their favourite stories during our 'show and tell' session. The children showed such care and respect when handling the books of their friends. THANK YOU!!!
This week is particularly important to us because it is the week where we wish a great big 'HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY' to Maes yr Haul. We have already had a fantastic experience in watching a hot air balloon visit our school. On Friday 23rd March, we will be holding an open morning from 9.15 - 11.15 am. Please come along and join us if you can. You will have an opportunity to see some of the lovely work that the children have been doing over the week to celebrate the school's birthday.
Can you believe that we are nearly at the end of the term? There are still so many things to look forward to. On Tuesday 27th March we will be having some very special visitors to our school from Greenmeadow Farm. Watch this blogg carefully to see who it will be!!!!! On Friday 30th March we will be having our Easter Bonnet Parade. This is always a lovely event in our school calendar and we look forward to seeing some of the creative hats that the children have made at home. We have also prepared some very special Easter songs and poems to share with you at the end of the day. We look forward to seeing you there.
As always thank you for your continued support this term and 'Happy Easter.'
Happy Birthday Maes Yr Haul!!

What a busy couple of weeks it has been in Reception. The children had a visit from the Quantum theatre company and learned lots about materials and their properties.
We also had a visit from PC Stewart who talked to the children about the special number to ring if they should ever need help. We even had the opportunity to dress up in some special police clothes!!! The class have been busily making police badges, hats and emergency vehicles as part of our 'People Who Help Us' topic.
The children are very excited about performing in the Christmas concert in December. They have worked hard on learning all of the words and actions for the songs. We look forward to seeing you all at the show and hope you really enjoy it.

The boys and girls have settled well into Reception. They have enioyed getting to know their teachers and classmates, as well as finding their way around the classroom.
Postman Pat's Post Office is a big hit with the children. They have enjoyed taking on many roles such as sorting mail, writing letters and delivering parcels in the van!
The children demonstrated good team work this week whilst using jumbo bricks to build tall towers and Humpty Dumpty's wall.

Apologies for the small photographs - technical hitch!!
