Welcome back for the summer term. We hope everybody had a fantastic Easter break and was visited by the Eater Bunny. Throughout the summer term we will be covering the topic Our Wonderful world. Throughout the topic we will be looking at our local community, going for a walk into our local town and comparing it with the world around us. The second half of the term will be focusing on The Olympics and we in Class Joseph will be focusing more specifically on the country of New Zealand. If you as parents have any resources or information, i.e. photos of New Zealand that you think would help, these would be very much appreciated!
Many thanks for your support
Mr Joseph and Mrs Thomas.

Welcome back for the spring term. We are covering the topics Croseo i Gymru and Me and My Shadow. We will be learning a lot and covering many skills in discovering interesting things all about Wales, ourselves, our bodies and light and dark.
The chidlren have already been introduced to the story behind the Welsh flag and discussed the importance of having a flag. They have also spent time thinking about Wales and what it is famous for. In this weeks Thinking Thursday the children will be discussing what they would like to do in their class assembly in which i hope to see you all.

Christmas is coming

Well it's that time of year again. Christmas is here, the children are excitable and the teacher's are dreading the Christmas concert. We have had a fantastic term in year one, learning all about Heroes and Villains. The children are growing up and we are even having first teeth falling out. They have worked hard in developing their handwriting skills, listening skills and maths skills this term, showing a willingness to learn and develop.
Mrs Thomas and myself would like to thanks all the parents this term for their help and support with the learning activities, trips and homework. Also we would like to thank you for your help with your children's costumes for the christmas concert in which they look fabulous and i think a few tears may be shed when seen.
Many thanks and a Happy Christmas to one and all.
Mr Joseph and Mrs Thomas.

Welcome to year 1
September 15, 2011, 9:13 am
Well we are back for another year. The Summer has gone and the Autumn is here.
The children have settled into Year 1 and are working hard to reach the targets that they have.
As many of you know our topic this term is Heroes and Villains. The children will be learning all about castles, fairytales, knights, homes from the past to today involving all the literacy and numeracy skills they need to know. If you do have anything to bring in to add to our Role Play Corner then these would be gladly accepted. I am looking forward to meet you all in the October Parents Evenings.

Just a quick thank you to all the parents for their girft to Mrs Woods and myself. We have had a fantastic year in year 2. It has been a pleasure to teach the children and we are proud of every one of them. We are sad that the year has come to and end but the children grow and move onto the next year on the journery to adulthood. We wish you all the best for the future and sure the children will continue in their success in year 3.
Many thanks.
Mr Joseph and Mrs Woods

What was life like years ago?
March 11, 2011, 11:55 am
Our trip to St Fagans was a success. The children had a fantastic time on a woodland walk where they were able to go on a mini beast hunt, looking for invertabrates, insects and other creepy crawlies. The height of the day was the visit to see Mrs Roberts the shop in Gwalia stores. Where the children learnt how they shopped many years ago. They found out how to measure out tea and coffee and ordered a few slices of bacon.
Thank goodness the weather stayed dry and we were able to visit many of the ancient buildings in St Fagans.
I think we can truly say we have found out what life was like many years ago.

Our Feathery Friends
January 25, 2011, 8:35 am
In class the children have been making their own feathery friends. As part of our topic In, out, around and about the children have been learning all about different kinds of garden birds. We have spent time in the Bird Hide tallying the different birds that have come onto the school grounds. The children regularly come in from break having spotted new garden birds. They have shown a real interest in this new topic and i am glad to say that we have only just started. Many thanks for your contributions to our Role play area and Investigation Station.
Danger Rangers visit Bristol Zoo
December 9, 2010, 11:06 am
On our adventure to find endangered animals we found one species that we didn't have on our Danger Ranger lists. He wore a red fluffy coat and sported a white fuzzy beard. It was none other than Father Christmas.
We had a fantastic time discovering new animals that we have never seen before and searching for those endangered animals that we have been learning about.
The children had the wonderful opportunity to ride the Santa express and experience the underwater viewing tunnels of the seals and penguins.
