When the plates in the earth
hit each other, one goes under and becomes too hot, so it
turns the earth into a boiling liquid called magma. The
magma finds a hole and comes out of the top through the
main or secondary vent of the volcano. When the magma
explodes it becomes lava.
Most volcanos erupt in an area called the "Ring of Fire"
which circles the Pacific Ocean.
